The Country Club Hills Twin Lakes neighborhood is a friendly, pleasant residential community nestled between the hills of the Lost Creek, Metzger and Ferguson Lake Reservoirs along the beautiful Lost Creek on the east side of Lima, Ohio. Reservoir Road is the northern boundary and Harding Highway (State Route 309) is the southern border. There are over 500 households in our 244 acre neighborhood which is located in Bath Township in Allen County.
The first homes were built in the 1960's and most homes were finished in the 1990's. Home sales prices vary between $100,000 and $325,000. The Lima-Allen County Regional Planning Commission rates the Exterior Quality of our neighborhood as excellent. According to the 2010 Census, there are 1,785 residents, representing over 14% of the Bath Township population.
The Country Club Hills Neighborhood Association Articles of Incorporation were granted by the State of Ohio on September 11, 1972. The first Board of Trustees President was Judge Richard Warren. The Twin Lakes Neighborhood Association, a not for profit organization, was formed on September 2, 1976. On January 8, 1990, the two groups merged. On July 8, 2003, the Internal Revenue Service recognized the CCHTL Neighborhood Association as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which makes all contributions to our association tax deductible and provides for other tax benefits.
CCHTL has a Board of Trustees composed of nine neighbor members. Each Trustee is elected and serves a three year term. The terms are staggered so that only three new Trustees will be elected each year. Terms of office begin at the Annual Neighborhood Meeting held in January of each year. After the new Trustees have been elected and sworn into office, the Board elects the new Officers by majority vote. The CCHTL Neighborhood meetings are normally held on the fourth Monday of the odd numbered months.
Our four acre Valley Way Park is open for the enjoyment of everyone. Lost Creek flows along its southern boundary. There is a shelter house with picnic tables and grills, a Little Free Library, a baseball diamond, a soccer field, and a large swing set. In 2019, the Allen County Ditch Maintenance Department completed an erosion control project along Lost Creek. With their help and a $2,000 Activate Allen County Grant, we were able to re-asphalt our 414 foot long walking path from Fenway Drive to our shelter house. Also, good neighbors donated a new children’s swing set and slide. It's a pleasant place to spend some time with family and friends.
In recognition of our community activities and park improvements, CCHTL received the national second place 2020 NUSA Neighborhood of the Year Physical Revitalization/Beautification Award. With our 2020 Activate Allen County grant we added a new children’s deluxe Play Tower, which will give our children the opportunity to exercise their bodies and imaginations.
The Bath Township Schools are academically excellent and have several fine sports teams particularly golf and girl's softball and basketball. Our neighborhood is located near the East Gate Shopping Plaza and has easy access to interstate I-75. There are numerous stores and restaurants located along Harding Highway.
The Ford Engine Plant and the Procter & Gamble Plant are located in Bath Township. Many of our neighbors currently work for these two major employers or are retired from these facilities. We have an excellent relationship with the Bath Township Trustees and work with them to improve roads and services to our community.
